Speaking as moderator of #litchat, I can tell you that you are missed. We look forward to when you can join us again regularly.

As a fellow author, I can attest to your great achievement in completing your second novel.

As a former fellow resident of Inlandia, and nearly a neighbor, I wish you were here in my new neighborhood.

Here's to everything good in 2012.

I feel the same way about LitChat. I still have it on my phone so my litchat alarm goes off when its time even though my current schedule has that time blocked off. I'm keeping it there. A time will come soon enough when that alarm will go off and I can participate again. Looking forward to another great year of writing and inspiration for both of us. :-)

Oh I love that--the use of flickr and google. The internet is great for seeking out inspirational images, isn't it? I do the same thing. Sometime when I'm not even writing but just hungry to connect to the setting of a story. It's good for characters too. The net is full of images of people; models to ordinary folk who can inspire. It happened that one of my female characters from TDP somewhat resembled in actor I met while working on a TV drama years ago. The character was by no means based on her but after the character was created I thought of her and looked her up on imdb. Of all the pictures she had posted, none of them resembled the character in the slightest...except one. Ironically she had this look on her face that the character would make. It turned out to be a helpful model as I worked through that character's scenes. The actress was a nice gal, I hope she's doing well with whatever she's up to these days.

Thanks Jamal! Yes, much ahead. I just finished step 3 of 15! Much more ahead. I'm looking forward to each step though. I think we have to enjoy each phase of the process (at least somewhat) to persevere through and create a good end product. To answer your question, I have a lot of love for the female lead of this book. He name is Elizabeth but she goes by "Libby". This doesn't take any thing away from Carlton, the storyteller (He shares that love, for sure). I think she's a unique character that I hope readers will enjoy getting to know just as I have over the years of development. Discovering, exploring, and writing her journey was probably my favorite part of the draft process.
